I've lost interest in presidential politics. Any candidate I could care about is gone from the race, and the only hope and change I see in the future is the destruction of my way of life... and America. I am such a downer.
So, I've tried ignoring things along those lines. Hard to do because I still enjoy listening to Glenn Beck. He still has plenty of non-presidential politics stuff, but it seeps in. When I'm not listening to talk radio, I try to forget about the impending election completely. But there is just no doing that. Even when I am climbing, it creeps it's way in. I was at the climbing gym, and looking around I noticed something odd on someone's rear end. It was an "Obama '08" sticker. That's right, he was advertising for Barack Obama on his butt. I have to give him credit for creativity. I mean, when you go to the climbing gym, a lot of people see your butt. It's just part of the game. So, why not use this to your (candidate's) advantage?
So I was standing there, looking at his butt, and contemplating Obama. Hmm.. You know, at first I thought he didn't have enough experience.. but then I learned more about him... and found out that I disagree with him on almost everything. BUT, this guy's rear is telling me I should vote for him! So, forget my deep rooted conservative values, and forget his terrible country ruining policies. This guy's BUTT is telling me to vote for him, so I NEED TO!
Also this served as a reminder that, sad as it is, of those who enjoy my sport, I am in the political minority. Beats me why... other than environmental reasons.
I recently got into the
xkcd comics, and really enjoy them. I was sad to see that the creator of them supports Barack Obama, but decided to see why anyway. (You can read his post here:

I actually agree with him, for the most part. Barack Obama probably would be the candidate most friendly to Open Source software, and public domain type things. Cool. There's finally one thing I can use to keep in my happy place once he becomes president (yeah, I'm convinced he'll be the next president.. I'm sad). But that is NOT enough to get me to support him! Let's get our priorities straight people! How is this more important than the economy? How is this more important than national defense? I could go on and on... but I need to take care of other things, so I don't have the time for a proper conclusion. The end.
